Owl and Owl Pellet Program
This program looks at the ecology of owls in Saskatchewan. Unlike other birds of prey, owls cannot digest their prey’s bones. What’s left behind instead is known as an owl pellet. Scientists use these pellets to study the biodiversity of the owl’s habitat.
Total program time is 45 minutes. Ten small owl pellets or 5 large owl pellets (good for 2 students) are included with your booking. You can choose to pick up your pellets BEFORE your program or we can mail them to you for a shipping fee (shipping costs vary). Additional Owl pellets are available for purchase to dissect in your classroom at a cost of $4.50/ small pellet or $9.00 for large pellet (for 2 students). Additonal owl pellets need to be ordered prior to the program by calling us at 306-975-3395.
Note: This program does not include animal ambassador time.
